SPLASH Dance Company integrates dancers with and without disabilities.

Every dancer contributes a variety of unique skills and experiences; including two wheelchair basketball players, a weightlifting champion, a contemporary dance student, and an aspiring DJ.

Each person adds their own flavour to the group bringing a collective statement of equality regardless of differences.

OUR VALUES

SPLASH exists because we believe that being different is something to be proud of.
— Helen Burningham, Founder

01

To raise role models and advocates for persons with disability.

SPLASH provides opportunities to nurture and develop talent in dance creation and performance presence.

SPLASH aim to be excellent when performing together. Through showcasing what we can do, we aim to inspire and celebrate ability, changing mindsets.

02

To encourage integration in society.

As we dance on stage, we want to encourage audiences that the inclusion seen on stage should not remain there but splash over into all society.

It is together that we find our meaning.

03

To empower and have an economic impact.

Persons with disabilities lack employment opportunities. Sadly there are still a substantial amount of persons with disabilities gaining a living by begging on the streets of Kampala, Uganda.

As SPLASH members perform and teach dance workshops, they are empowered economically for their time and creative efforts.
